#6 - Fill Light: 13:53

If you've ever taken a portrait  that was back-lit and too dark in the face, this technique
will put a smile back on your face! Here's how to use a fill-light to add both light and
color to your photo long after the shutter snapped!

This video tutorial shows you how to add a fill-light to your back-lit photos to save those
portraits that are too dark in the face or those still-lifes that need a little fill-flash. First
steps from prior tutorials have already been used to adjust the tonal range & saturation
levels with adjustment layers. Unwanted stray hairs from the face have been removed,
and the complexion has been smoothed by reducing blemishes.  To ready our photo for
the fill light, we combine all those layers onto a new layer and add an omni-fill-light to
brighten the dark shadows on our dancer's costume and face. A terrific fix for those
photos that need more than simple lightening to make them shine!
